2.       The week before school starts is extremely busy for the PTA and we need your help to ensure a smooth Meet and Greet and start of school for our Sope Creek families and children.  There are signup sheets on the door of the PTA office in the 2nd grade hallway for everything from stuffing, delivery, teacher luncheon, meet and greet, and hospitality.  Please let your friends and other parents know about the volunteer opportunities available and how much we would appreciate the help.

3.       Our PTA Reflections Committee wants to you to put on your thinking cap this summer.  Next school year’s PTA Reflections theme is “WOW” which lets the imagination run wild!  The program is open to all students at Sope Creek.  The categories for Reflections are Literature, Musical Composition, Visual Arts, Photography, Film/Video Production, and Dance Choreography.

4.       And speaking of themes, Sope Creek is going green next year and our theme is “WE ARE WHAT WE GROW.”   We work to help our children grow into wonderful adults.

Weekly News

Can you believe that it's our last week of school?   We will read "New Shoes for Silvia" in Language Arts and do some practice and review in Math.

We will enjoy some fun and educational activities during our last week together.

On Monday we will travel around to the other first grades to hear summer stories.

On Tuesday we will have Read Me Day.  Your child should wear a t-shirt with words on it.  The more words, the better, as they will play a game where they get words from others' shirts.

On Wednesday we will have Game Day.  Your child may bring a favorite board game to share.

On Thursday we will take all belongings home and have a pizza party in the afternoon.

On Friday we will spend our last day together enjoying fond memories and each other.

Please remember that bookbags and lunch boxes cannot be brought onto the buses on Friday.  If your child brings a snack and/or lunch from home on Friday, it must be in a disposable bag.

Have a nice weekend !!!  Marijac
