Busy Bee Buzz

Dear Busy Bee Parents,
It is truly hard to believe how quickly the year has gone by. It has been my pleasure spending this time with your children. Please encourage them to keep up their writing and reading this sumer. I will be sending home a booklist from the second grade in the manilla envelope.
I want to thank everyone for the cooperation and support you have given me throughout the year. I hope you have a fun, relaxing, and safe summer!!!
                   Sincerely,

2.       The week before school starts is extremely busy for the PTA and we need your help to ensure a smooth Meet and Greet and start of school for our Sope Creek families and children.  There are signup sheets on the door of the PTA office in the 2nd grade hallway for everything from stuffing, delivery, teacher luncheon, meet and greet, and hospitality.  Please let your friends and other parents know about the volunteer opportunities available and how much we would appreciate the help.

3.       Our PTA Reflections Committee wants to you to put on your thinking cap this summer.  Next school year’s PTA Reflections theme is “WOW” which lets the imagination run wild!  The program is open to all students at Sope Creek.  The categories for Reflections are Literature, Musical Composition, Visual Arts, Photography, Film/Video Production, and Dance Choreography.

4.       And speaking of themes, Sope Creek is going green next year and our theme is “WE ARE WHAT WE GROW.”   We work to help our children grow into wonderful adults.

Please remember on our last of of school the children won't be able to take anything home on the bus at the end of the day. This includes backpacks and lunchboxes. This is Cobb County policy. If your child brings lunch to school,be sure it is in a bag they can throw away.

Don't forget to send in a large grocery bag so your Bee can take home all of their folders, books, etc.Cool_bee

Math-
I will not be sending home daily Math Homework sheets. We will be doing all of our lessons in class. We will be talking about capacity and the lessons require measuring tools and other items which everyone might not have at home.

Field Day-The Bees are looking forward to a great day on Wednesday May 7th. The coaches always plan an awesome day for everyone.   We have a bag lunch that day.  Don't forget to wear your class t-shirts.
