Busy Bee Buzz

This week the Bees have been working very hard in Writing Workshop. They are all looking forward to publishing one piece of their writing.We also are finishing up our Author study. The children have enjoyed listening to Kevin Henkes' wonderful stories. Our next author will be Leo Lionni

During the next few weeks we will be working on a weather unit. Please send in an empty water bottle if you haven't already done so.We will be using them for a special science project.

Please leave weekly Homework sheets in your child's folder. Sometimes I may want to make some changes to the assignments.

Thank you so much for sending in the classroom supplies. With cold season already here, we are tring to keep our desks as clean as possible.

  Everyone has been doing a wonderful job in Writing Workshop. The children are busy writing about all of the treasures they put in their "Getting To Know You " bags.The Bees also have enjoyed listening to books by Kevin Henkes. He is our author of the month.

  Some of the forms I sent home for Scholastic Books have the wrong names on them. Please put your child's name at the top of the form when ordering books and cross out the other name. I'm sorry for the mistake. Please send the forms back by Friday so I can order the books this weekend. Thank You!!!

Busy Bee News

We had a very busy first week of school. Everyone had fun sharing their "Getting to Know You " bags. Next week we will be starting Writing Workshop and writing about the contents of the bags.

We will also be starting our Fundations program next week. This is a phonics and handwriting program which helps the children feel confident and successful as they read and write.

Our first Science Unit is on the Weather. Please send in an empty 16.9 oz. water bottle for a special experiment.

I want to thank everyone for being so supportive and sending in all of the little extras we need for our class.   Have a great weekend!!

Open House

  It was a pleasure seeing everyone last night at Open House.. I sent home information for those parents that could not attend. The children enjoyed the notes you left them.

Please make sure your child brings their Take Home Folder to school every day. They want to put their stickers in each day and we need it to send home papers.

Also,if you forgot to take home the Parent Student Handbook let me know . I found extras in the class.

     I am looking forward to a great Busy Bee year.
