Busy Bee Buzz

The Bees had a super time at Field Day! A big thank you to the coaches for planning such an awesome day and to all of the parent volunteers!

Media Center- Please be sure to return all books to the Media Center by Monday May 12th.

Please send in a large grocery bag with your child's name on it. They will need these bags to bring home their supplies, folders, and notebooks the last week of school. Thanks!

Special Project- I need the children to bring a rock to school on Monday. I showed them a sample so they know what size to look for. It is a special project for their dads.

      5/23/08- Last day of school- The children are not allowed to bring backpacks to school that day. If you   send in lunch, put in in a paper bag that can be thrown out.

Busy Bee Update

Math-
    I will not be sending home daily Math Homework sheets. We will be doing all of our lessons in class. We will be talking about capacity and the lessons require measuring tools and other items which everyone might not have at home.

Field Day-The Bees are looking forward to a great day on Wednesday May 7th. The coaches always plan an awesome day for everyone.   We have a bag lunch that day.  Don't forget to wear your class t-shirts.

  I made a mistake on the date of Field Day. It is May 7th not May 8th. The rain date is on the 9th.

     The Bees are doing a great job on the CRCT. It is very hard to sit for such a long time, but they are doing an awesome job.

May 3 - Campus Clean-up

Come anytime between 9:00 & 12:00 to help "spring clean" our campus.  Everyone is invited.  Bring your rake, shovel, gloves, and brown paper trash bags.  The class with the highest participation will receive a flower for their teacher.

What can you do to help your child do well on the tests?

   Practice on line.

   Get a good nights sleep.

   Eat a good breakfast.

  Get to school on time.

First grade is testing April 23rd-25th in the mornings.We will have very little homework next week.

Specials Schedule Change - Please note, during CRCT testing our special will be different. We will go to specials from 12:10-12:45. Here is the schedule:

April 23- P.E.

April 24- Tech.

April 25- P.E.

Busy Bee Update

SOPE CREEK FAMILY BRAVES NIGHT! Join your friends and neighbors for a night of Braves baseball! Our Sope Creek Chorus has been invited to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” on Friday, April 18th. Mark your calendar now and join us for a fun-filled evening! We have blocked off a section of seats just for Sope Creek families. Tickets will be on sale from March 24-April 4th. Tickets will be $15 each. Turn in order form and check to Mrs. Carter in 4th grade.

Library Change--- We will be going to the Library on Thursday this week. Please have the books returned so you can pick new ones before Spring Break.

Book Club---I am not sending home a book this week. We will be reading in class together. The Bees will geta new book after Break. Have a terrific Spring Break!! Enjoy!!

Busy Bee Buzz

The Bees are very busy becoming Botanists. We had a great day last Friday beginning our experiments with plants. Now we are waiting "patiently" while they grow.

We will be going to the Library on Thursday. Please make sure your books are back if you want to be able to take new ones out.

CRCT testing begins after Spring Break on April 23rd. The First Grade has testing for three days. I'm sure the Bees will do a great job. Just make sure they get a good night sleep before the tests and have a healthy breakfast.
