We had a fun 100th day celebration today!! Thank you for sending in all the food. We had snacks all day...

Thank you to Mrs. Burns for reading today. Thanks for the cookies too!

We will have PE on Monday.

Look in their folders for a program note for Thursday night. Look at their work too. Please take it out too.

Exciting News!

First grade will beperforming for the next PTA meeting (February 2nd at 7:00 pm)!

If your child will be joining us, make sure your firstgrader is on stage in the cafeteria, ready to perform by 6:55 pm next Thursdayevening.

First graders should wearclean jeans and a solid colored shirt.

Thank you for sending in all the items for the 100th day celebration.

Friday will be a fun day...alot of things to count, eat and enjoy. Have them wear their Turtle shirts if they want too. We will be traveling to 4 other first grade classes to do activites.

Homework is due on Friday.

Today is Monday, January 23, 2012.

Thank you sending back the notes for the 100th day. I sent home a note with the needed items. We will have 100 things to eat, count or  play with on Friday! If you forgot just send it on Tuesday.

There is homework in their folder. and...

There is a note for the Six Flags reading program. Keep up with the minutes read for the month of February. Return the form on February 28 and they will earn a free ticket to Six Flags!!!

We have PE on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Today is Thursday.

We have STEM on Friday.

Homework is due on Friday. Parents please sign their homework.

I still have a few white cards and envelopes not returned. Keep the report card.

They have a continents and oceans paper in their folder. They did a great job labeling .

Next Friday is our 100th day. We will have special activites. A note will go home next week for food donations.

We will begin a study of Harriett Tubman on Friday.

Today is Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

Thank you for getting the white cards signed and returning the envelopes. If you did not see a report card on Friday then please check your child's take home folder. Please take out all the old work..

Homework is in their folder. We practiced the words today. Please read nightly or do a Raz. I get a weekly report on the IXL math program.

We will have PE on Wednesday and Thursday. Please wear tennis shoes.

We wrote our weekend news and will read it aloud on Wednesday. The writing was much better today.

We wrote our street address today. I would like them to be able to write it themselves. I will see how many can by Friday. Then we will add Marietta, then Georgia, then zip as time goes on.

Check to see if they need library books.

We had a busy morning. We took and spelling and math quiz. The papers are graded and in their folders. Report cards are in their folders. Please sign the card and return it in their envelope. Keep the report card and papers at home.

There is no school on Monday...................

We will have art on Tuesday.

The 2nd quarter report cards will go home on Friday. Please sign the card and return it in the envelope. Keep the report card.

My class is growing up. The behavior and work habits have been wonderful. We are off to a great beginning of first and a half grade. Halfway to second grade now!

PE for specials on Friday. Art on Tuesday.   NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY........

Welcome back!!Today is January 10,2011.

We had a fun,busy day. We have new homework in our folders. I went over the words and discussed the newest choices . I would love to see a story and alphabetical order ...however it is their choice.

Please do the math and log in their reading each night. ...Parents please sign their homework too.

We wrote our weekend news and will read them on Wednesday. We had reading groups.

We began a math unit on comparing and ordering numbers. (greater than, less than).

In Social Studies we will learn our address and phone number, city, state, county,and  country.

You will see a different morning work. We have a story and comprehension questions on the back of the paper.Please look at it with your child nightly.

The first ever Sope Creek Family Movie Night is coming on January 20, 2012. It is being sponsored by the Student Council. We will be showing The Smurfs and National Treasure 2. Popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase, but you can BYOC (Bring Your Own Candy). We will be expecting that you bring your parents because this is a family event –– no drop offs, please. So mark your calendar –– January 20 7:00-9:00 in the cafeteria and the media center. Optional donation for Must Ministries gladly accepted.
