COMMITTEE NEWS
· Art Day (Co-Chair needed): We need to someone to "learn the ropes" from our current Art Day chairperson as this will be her last year to coordinate this event.
· Child Safety (Co-Chair needed): Sponsor Red Ribbon Week, School Bus Safety Week, Bus Driver Brunch.
· Education and Literacy (Co-Chair needed): Book Swap, Summer Reading, Reading Week at the Creek
· Enrichment (Co-Chair needed): Mad Scientist, Chief Sawgrass, Earth Day, Pioneer Day; this committee is ongoing throughout the year. Many NEW activities currently being planned. Be a part of the action!
· Exceptional Children (Co-Chair needed): The Exceptional Children Committee educates about topics relevant to children with academic, physical, and/or social challenges. Conducts workshops and provides reading materials for parents and teachers. February- Ability Awareness Week
· Membership (Co-Chair needed): Organizes, distributes flyers, and sells PTA memberships throughout the school year. Includes selling memberships at Sneak-a-Peek, Open House, and Fall Festival. Sends payments to state PTA each month.
· Public Relations (Co-Chair needed): Share all the wonderful Sope Creek happenings with our community.
· Welcoming (Co-Chair needed): Provide literature and time to welcome new families to our Sope Creek community.

COKE REWARDS SUMMER PROGRAM: Continue to collect Coke Rewards all summer long! Turn them in via email to pam@gatech.edu or save them for the first week of school! Summer is a great time to collect coke rewards points at vacations, games, parties, pools, etc! How many points can you collect over the summer?
THE CHIEFS ARE COMING!!!! We are happy to announce Sope Creek's mascot, the Chief!!
According to dictionary.com, the word "chief" can have the following definitions:

4.Informal. boss or leader: We'll have to talk to the chief about this.

FEEDER SCHOOL NEWS
Matt Harpring's "Back to the Basics" Basketball Camp
Location : Walton High School (approximately 1 mile NW of the intersection of Johnson Ferry and Route 120)
Times and Ages : 2 Sessions ---- 7/5 - 7/8/10 (Ages 8-11 and 12-15) and 7/12 - 7/15/10 (Ages 8-11 and 12 -15) ---- It's a 4 day camp for each session. Please note that we are accepting all ages for both sessions. Walton High School has 2 separate gyms--each age bracket will have it's own gym. Matt will be involved with both gyms.
Full Session Price : Full Session Price is $250 per child, $460 for 2 children from same family or for 1 child attending both sessions, and for families sending 3 children, the cost is $660.
Registration : Registration form must be accompanied with the full payment.
Times/Schedule : Monday thru Thursday -- 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Both sessions are for both Boys and Girls. There will be a cut-off after we reach a Max number for each camp.
