Writers Workshop

Mustang’s have been reading about Christmas Around the World.  We have written a compare/contrast essay on Christmas in the

USA

and Christmas in

Holland

.  This week the students will decide what country and custom they want to explore and write about.

Reading

The students will read Centerfield Ballhawk.  This story is a realistic fiction piece about a little boy who does not want to disappoint his father.  In the end, he realizes he is a “hit” with his father as a player and a person.

Grammar

Review singular and plural pronouns.  Introduce subject pronouns.

Math

Keep practicing your multiplication facts especially 6,7,& 8’s. 

We will be using bar graphs and multiplication to problem solve.  Test on Chapter 9 Friday.
