School Pictures - PLEASE return all pictures/picture money as soon as possible. If you do not wish to purchase any pictures, simply send the envelopes back. Picture retakes are scheduled for October 4th.
Attention Parents!!!! Please help the Monkeys earn a Pizza Party. As an incentive for perfect attendance during standardized testing week, our administators are offering a pizza party to the class with the fewest number of absences at each grade level.
The Monkeys will be participating in standardized testing on Wednesday and Thursday, September 26 & 27, and again Monday - Friday, October 1-5th. The first two days the students will take the Cogat, and the remaining five days they will be taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. Please make sure that your child gets a good night's rest and eats a good breakfast in preparation for testing. Please remember to send a snack and a water bottle with your child. Also, please try hard to get students to school on time. Students will not be allowed to go to their classrooms during a testing situation if they arrive late.
Book Reports and Reading Logs are due Friday, September 28th.
The Monkeys have really taken off with mastering their math facts! Some of us are already learning our multiplication facts! WOW! Please remember that once a student has achieved a score of 90% or better within the 5 minute time limit, two consecutive times, he or she will move forward in the following order: subtraction, multiplication, and finally division. If your child receives a packet of extra drills, please encourage him/her to practice regularly. These fact sheets do not need to be returned. I will be able to evaluate proficiency when I grade the fact tests. If you would like additional practice, please contact me via email, or drop me a note. Thank you for your continued support with this!
