Halloween   

  Thanks so much to Claire for bringing to class a new basketball for all to use.

     Please support the foundation.  We would like to have a Smart Board and an LCD projector for every classroom.

     Please fill out the Make a Difference form that was sent home to honor our former principal, Karen Looft.

     Have a great fall weekend!  Don't forget Wednesday is Halloween!!!!!!!!!

     We will be having a pizza party on Wednesday, Oct. 17th, at 10:00 due to the fact that we had 100% attendance during testing week.  Way to go Musicians!!!!  We will still be eating lunch in the lunchroom at 11:48.

     This is Red Ribbon Week.  Don't forget to wear your red ribbon everyday this week and:

Monday - wear red.

Tuesday - wear crazy socks.

Wednesday - wear your favorite team jersey or numbered shirt.

Thursday - bring in a red healthy snack or something red to eat at lunch.

Friday - bring in a gently used stuffed animal to donate to Children's Services.

     Thanks so much to the following students who brought in treats for testing week.  They were just delicious and made testing so much better.  A big thank you to:  Harper, David, William, Chase, Kajsa, Claire, and Rachel.

     Because we had 100% attendance during testing week we won a pizza party.  We will have a pizza lunch on Wednesday, October 17th.  You may bring in any drink you wish to go along with the pizza lunch.

     Don't forget we will have Early Release next Wednesday.  Students will be dismissed at 12:20.  Only those registered for ASP may attend.

     There will be a pizza party for the class in third grade with the least absences during testing week.  Please try to be here each day.  I know you love pizza!!!!!

    Don't forget the following:

   1.  Octoberfest is this Saturday, Oct. 6th.  Please bid on the teaching outing at Octoberfest.  It's going to be lots of fun.

   2.  Picture retakes will be on Thursday, Oct. 4th.

   3.  Trip slip and trip $ and due.

   4.  Picture money is due.

     Thanks so much, Mrs. Davis, Rachel's mom, for making such a wonderful directory for our class.  What a great resource to have for the school year!!!

     Don't forget that we have a Chuck E Cheese fund raiser next Friday, September 28th.  It will be from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.  You will get a coupon for 10 free tokens on Friday.  I hope you will attend.

      The science test for rocks and minerals will be on Tuesday.  Please study pages C4 - C29 in your

text and all of your worksheets for this unit.  The test will not be difficult if you study.

    Don't forget to study your addition facts.  There will be a timed test on Friday.  Your science test on rocks, minerals, and fossils will be the week of September 17th.  You may want to start studying now.  Everyone needs to have an old sock to use as an eraser for our dry erase boards.  Bring an extra one in and receive a sticker.

   I hope you are using the websites to the left of this blog.  They will really help with your math and reading skills.

        Please make sure all reading logs are signed and totaled by a parent.  There is a 200 minute minimum.  I hope you will read much more than that.  Reading Logs are due Friday, August 31st.

       If you are being driven to school by a parent, make sure that you are here no later than 7:30.

       This was a great second week of school.  You are a terrific class!!!!

Welcome back

Beginning_school

It's so good to be back at school.  I know this will be a wonderful year for you.

This week we will get acquainted with daily math, dailies, and daily oral language.  We will also begin our first unit in math on place value and begin our language arts curriculum by reading "La Isla"  Spanish fantasy story.
