Important News from the Clinic and Administration:
We are starting to see an increase in illness at Sope Creek. Please review and adhere to the following guidelines:
- Students need to be free from vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
- Students need to be fever free (without fever reducing medicine) for 24 hours before returning to school.
- If your child has a serious cough, particularly if it’s accompanied by breathing difficulties call your MD and keep your child at home. Coughs can spread infection to other students.
- Students with Bacterial Conjunctivitis (pink eye) may return to school 24 hours after antibiotics are begun. Students with Viral Conjunctivitis may return when eyes are “clear,” no apparent redness and no drainage present or with a written note from your MD. *The cause of the pink eye must be determined by a physician.
The single most effective way to prevent the spread of disease is by good hand washing!
Don't forget that if your child is absent, we need an excuse note. Simply send in a note stating your child's name, their teacher, and the reason for absence. Illness is a sufficient reason. If you would like to download a Sope Creek absence excuse template, you may do so by clicking here.
Thank you for helping us make sure Sope Creek students, staff, and families stay healthy!
