Mrs. Candace loved all the sweet baby gifts from everyone! Some of the gifts turned over in the car on my way to see Candace and baby Ryder, so the cards got mixed up. So, I told her I would thank everyone for her on the blog. Sorry about that…
Wednesday May 23 and Thursday May 24 are early release days! Please make note of alternate dismissal times and notify babysitters and daycares as soon as possible.
- Half-day children (typically go home at noon) – These children will be dismissed at 10:30 am.
- Full-day children (typically go home at 2:00) – These children will be dismissed at noon.
Please send in a shopping bag of some sort with handles (example: a green Publix bag or Trader Joes with a handle) so that we can send home rest towels, extra clothes and end of year art stuff. Often the backpacks are not big enough to hold all of this.
The last day of school is May 24th: No backpacks or lunch boxes are allowed at school. If you send your child’s lunch that day, please send it in a brown bag or other type of throw away bag. This is a county policy that has to do with the buses.

School News:
The Sope Creek Service Council is on a mission to raise $7,500 dollars to support the Stop Hunger Now Organization.
Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world.
Please visit www.stophungernow.org to learn more about this amazing organization we have partnered with.
Once we reach our goal each student at Sope Creek will have the opportunity to create a meal and package it for shipping.
As you may recall, we also partnered with this organization last year and the students and teachers had nothing but wonderful things to say about the experience.
Last year the students at Sope Creek packaged over 20,000 meal packages enough to feed 120,000 servings!!
Action :
We are asking students to look under their beds, in their cars, and perhaps do some extra chores to earn money to place in their classrooms collection container. On Monday the money will be collected and given to the Stop Hunger Now Organization. If you would like to donate you can also help by making a check out directly to Stop Hunger Now, and have your child drop it off in the collection basket in the front office.
The Service Council would also like to encourage you to come check out the bagging event that will happen the last week of school in the Sope Creek media center.
Students will be working hard (while having fun) to make a difference in students lives across the globe!
Thank You!
The Sope Creek Service Council
