We will have a very exciting and busy week! The Boosterthon is Thursday at 8:15. Please come and cheer us on! The Hummingbirds will meet you on the field near the playground! Make sure your child wears sneakers and comfy clothes!
This week we will continue to learn about using the sky line, plane line, grass line and worm line when we write. We will work on letters, t and f. Last week we concentrated on the words I an ME. This week we will work on MY. We will also start our reading series and look at how pictures can tell us the story. In writing we will continue to talk about how pictures can tell our story. We are working on adding details and simple words. They have also had a ton of fun learning about their "Book Nook". This a specials spot in the room where they look through stories at their own level. The can read or look at the pictures. Fromthere they summarize the story through a picture/words.
In Math we are working on sorting and learning how to write our numbers. many know the number and can count but if asked to write the number they can't. This is something we will work on at school, but extra practice at home would be great too.
HW:Our main concentration is on them learning the letters and sounds. Practice at home! Please send in pictures from a magazine of the five senses! Smelling, tasting, touching, seeing, and hearing. We will sort them at the end of the week and glue them to a chart!
Library day is Thursday! Send books back by then!
