Dear Parents - I have attached the word club letter, just in case you need another copy.  In future weekly newsletters I will make suggestions of fun activities to help your child with mastering the lists.  If your child is learning these words for the first time....work on about five words at a time and add a few at a time. Slow and steady wins the race.  It is best to learn them over the year so the children will have time to add them to their long term memory. 

If your child can read the complete list and you wish for them to continue to be challenged, you may choose to have them learn to spell the clubs.  I will still test them every month on reading the words and recognize them as a "member of the club".  In addition, I will test them on spelling and add a spelling bee sticker next to their name.  Once your child can read 100 sight words, they have opened the door to reading.  Now is the time to open the door to writing.

The children and their teachers had a fun time celebrating our Boosterthon success today.  We had 100% of our pledges turned in!  We also have all our book boxes here and ready to celebrate our reading journey.  Thank you to all the parents.

Octoberfest Coming - Sign up to Volunteer

OCTOBERFEST – 3 weeks to go!

You don’t want to miss this year’s awesome inflatables and rides at Octoberfest!! New this year is the Blazing Mechanical Bull! Come try your hand at hanging on! Back again is the Terrific Titanic Slide, Mutiny on the Bouncer, the Ultimate Obstacle Challenge, Pirate 5-in-1 and the Justice League Double Challenge! Enjoy the train ride, lots of games and an all-time favorite, the Spider Jump!

Parents! We are ready to schedule volunteers to help make Octoberfest a great day! We need your help! Please see the link below to view all activities and times where volunteers are needed. We hope to sign up all volunteers via this website without having the Room Reps recruit you from each class. Please find your favorite activity and preferred time to sign up and help us fill these positions ASAP. Octoberfest is a great success because of you! Thank you for your support!
