I'm looking forward to meeting with all of you this week. If you haven't gotten back with me about your conference time, there is still time. I have openings throughout the week and can slip you in, with just an email or a phone call. Don't forget to stop by the Book Fair.
Many thanks to Sam's mom and David's mom for reading to our class. Special thanks to Crain's mom for filling on for me while I was planning with the 3rd grade teachers.
Due to the shortened school day, we will only be working on our math and language arts skills. There will be no recess and lunch is almost an hour earlier. If everyone eats a good breakfast, we should make it to lunch without a snack.
Math: beginning multiplication strategies
Language Arts:
- Making connections to the text
- summarizing
- contractions
- vivid verbs
- responding to literature
- spelling words with beginning clusters
Please remember to log on to IXL every day and practice for 10 minutes. The students should focus on multiplication skills. They may review adding, subtracting, time, place value, money and estimating.
Parents please check your child's homework. I'm finding some are only completing a handful of math problems or one side of the workbook page in our language arts workbook.
