November 13th is Sope Creek Pizza Night at Papa John's.

A 15% return is given to your school. The teacher with the most orders wins a free pizza for the class. Return the receipt on the box to your teacher the following day. Please do not send in the actual receipt that contains credit card information--just the order on the side of the pizza box.  A reminder will go home on Tuesday.

The Health and Nutrition Committee recently conducted a survey to find out what improvements parents wished could be made to the current Sope Creek lunch menu. Through meetings involving Martha Whalen, the Health and Nutrition Committee and Cobb County Nutrition Services, we have been granted some healthy changes to our menu on a “trial basis”! From November 26th until December 21st, the following changes will be in effect: Milks with artificial sweetener (high fructose corn syrup) and artificial colorings (red and blue dyes) will not be served, in favor of natural milk. Soy milk will be available for purchase (a la carte) to nourish our lactose intolerant and dairy-free students. Yogurt will be available for purchase as an a la carte item. Please make every effort to encourage your students to purchase and consume the new healthier lunch items being offered during this period of time. You have a great deal of influence and the kids look to you for guidance. **Milk consumption is the County’s #1 concern. If milk sales drop off during the “trial period” we will NOT be allowed to keep the healthy changes. It is up to us now to prove to the County that we feel our students deserve the healthiest start in life which can be offered. Thank you so much for your support!

Foundation News!

3rd Grade Parents,
Thanks to each and every family for your years of support of the Sope Creek Foundation.  We all count ourselves fortunate to be part of the Sope Creek community and are grateful for the wonderful educational benefits Sope Creek provides.
The Foundation is excited about the possibility of adding innovative learning to each and every classroom this year with SmartBoards.  Our goal is to raise $100,000.  However, to make this a reality for every Sope Creek student, we need 100% participation from every Sope Creek family.  No gift is too small.
The boards will installed in the grades with the highest participation.  Currently, 3rd grade has only 19% participation.  For those who have already given, we thank you!
Won't YOU consider a tax deductible contribution to the SmartKids Campaign?
