OUR FIRST REAL WEEK OF WORK!

The Greyhounds are learning the morning routine.  They now know that notes from home come to me first thing in the morning. They also know to take out their binder and also to put their snack in their desk.  We are also learning to sharpen our pencils in the morning and begin morning work as soon as possible.  We are still learning, however, how to walk quietly in the halls, how to raise our hand to give an answer, and how to check our morning work.  This will take some weeks before we get it down pat!

I am confident we will learn this quickly, because the Greyhounds ROCK!

I gave them an addition timed test this week---100 problems and 5 minutes to complete them.  The results were not too bad.  Look for that to come home this week.

PARENTS:  As I mentioned at open house, we will have weekly tests in math, spelling, and reading.

I would like to give the reading tests on Thursday and the Spelling Tests on Friday.  Content tests(Health, Science, Social Studies) will be given on Friday.  Math tests will be any day of the week depending on when we finish our Chapter Test.  I will try my best to post the dates on the blog.

REMEMBER ONLY THE BEHAVIOR SHEET COMES BACK TO ME--ALL THE ATTACHED WORK STAYS HOME!

Parents--Please try to have your child come to school on Thursdays and Fridays- our testing dates.

THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL!

Back_to_school_bus

We had an incredible first week.  The Greyhounds played games, did getting to know you activities, we worked on crossword puzzles and word searches.  We had a blast playing hot potato!  Now that the week is over, I'm sure we are very tired.  Get plenty of rest this weekend and be ready for work next week.

Thanks to all the parents that came to OPEN HOUSE!  It was very nice meeting you all!  We have a great set of kids and wonderful parents too.

I am very excited to work with your child.

Thanks also for all of the extra supplies you have sent in.  We can't do without these supplies.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  YOU'RE THE BEST!
