Kangaroo_and_globe Tomorrow is our Australian Bakery visitation!!!  We will get to hear and see lots of things about Australian.  We are all excited to try lamington and all of the other foods unusual to us here in the US.  Thank you Mrs. Newhouse for helping serve!!!

The Dragons are practicing for our Fashion Show on Tuesday.  We are all so excited about the chance to perform one more time for you.  Remember that we are learning our lines at school, so the only thing done at home is the costume.  If you have any questions, please email me.  Look forward to seeing you at 8:30 that morning.

Next week is very busy each day.  Seems like there is so much more to do and so little time.  I want to thank you again for being such wonderful parents.  I have enjoyed this year more than any other.  A lot of that is because of you and your trusting, kind attitudes.

Just some important reminders....Reading logs are due on Wednesday.  We have approximately 9 prizes this time.  Since it is a short month, I thought we needed some incentives.  Thank you to Mrs. Boyle, Mrs. Brubacher and Mrs. Tumulak for providing prizes!!!  Our behavior system has changed for the last weeks of school.  You can imagine how the excitement is building for the coming of summer!!!  Anyway, each morning each student receives five $1,000 bills.  Not following our class rules causes the loss of money.  The remaining money will be used for our auction next Thursday.  Each student is to bring to class a chapter book, which they think one of their classmates would enjoy reading this summer.  This book may be new or slightly used, but should be an early third grade chapter book.  On Thursday afternoon we will each use our money to purchase the book of our choice.  Please have your child bring a book as soon as possible.

We will have sooooooooo many fun reading, writing, and math activities next week, but I want to thank our room mothers for providing our ice cream floats on Friday.

Will you please have your Dragondragon wear their class t-shirt on Wednesday?  We have some games planned with all second graders, and it would be helpful to have the dragons all in the same shirt.

See you on Tuesday.....Linda

Baby_dragon The Dragons had a great time on Field Day.  Thank you Mrs. Newhouse for sending in the water.

Two weeks left!!!  I can't believe it.  We are working on class placement for next year, and I don't want to give up my dragons!!!!

Next week we will continue with our Australia unit in social studies. The Australian Bakery will visit us on Friday. This will be a great opportunity for the children to taste foods from Australia.

We will have our last spelling test on Tuesday.  This week we had our final spelling bee, and our two winners Matthew Brubacher and Desiree Reyes will represent our class in the second grade spelling bee tomorrow.

In reading we continue our book called Gooseberry Park.  It is a book about friendship told through the use of animals.  We are enjoying the character called Murray!!!  Ask your dragon about him.Graduation_hat

If you have not sent in your registration card for next year and your envelope with 3 stamps, please do so by Friday.

Have a fun weekend, and we'll see you on May 20th for our Amelia Bedelia Fashion Show.                                                         Linda
