I Love this time of year!! Giving THANKS to all of you and your wonderful children for all you do!! I appreciate all of your hard work and support you give me every day. Sending in your children well rested and happy so they are ready learn!! Also, well prepared for the day!! We had the BEST International Snack day today!! Thank you all for sending in the food!! We had food, and families from all over the world!! We had food from Japan, Vietnam, India, Italy (several), Brazil, Bosnia, Scotland and of course from the USA!! It was so much fun making those real life-connections to their learning with your help!! We really had a Feast!! I'd also like to THANK Mrs. Keller the most for coming up with the lessons and activities to go along with our Nutrition across the curriculum theme! She did an excellent job and the kids Loved it!! She will only be with us for one more week. Her last day with our class will be Friday, Dec. 2nd. Please have your child write a thank you note to her and we will do some kind of "celebration" on that day in her honor!
Remember NO SCHOOL all next week. I will see your child's shining faces on Monday, Nov. 28th at 7:45am! Next week, we will skip over to learning all about money!! Also, we will continue to become better writers by using more descriptive words in our writing. In reading, we will be going over the blends - "sp, sk, sm" and reading with fluency and accuracy. Be sure to practice your skills on IXL Math and Raz-Kids over the long break! We will be studying Landforms/Maps in Social Studies and then moving on to another American Hero, Thomas Jefferson. Thanks goes to Maggie's mom for being my helper parent this week and Sofia's mom for reading to us!! Next week, we have Nate's mom as the helper parent on Tues. and the story parent on Thurs. Mrs. Minear will be contacting you soon to sign-up for the 2nd half of the yr. as helper and story parent, so be sure to Sign-up if you'd like to do this. Also, please email me if you could help out with supplies for our "landform" cookies next Friday!
Enjoy your family time and have a happy, and safe Thanksgiving!
