The kids did a WONDERFUL job this week with the COGAT testing. They used their active listening skills and really tried their best! I am so proud of them all!! They got a special treat today for finishing!! The scores will be back sometime in December, I believe.
We sure did enjoy Invention day!! What creative minds we have!! They all worked together in a team to build their invention. On Monday, we will finish them and present them to the class.
Next week, Rylan's mom and Alex's mom will be our two Parent Volunteers for our first teacher training for the PVS on Thurs., Oct. 13th from 11:25-1:30. Please stress with your child on how to behave when we have guest here. This week, we had a dad come to eat with the class, and some of the Dalmatian friends were rude and not polite to him. I hope we have learned how to act around any and all adults and be on our best behavior all the time. Thank you ladies for volunteering your time to sub in the class while I will be out. Also, thank you for Nathan's mom for being our story parent and Jack's mom for being the helper parent this past week. Next week, we will have Sofia's mom as our helper and Jack's mom as our story parent. Library day is on Wed...so send in those books!!
Next week, I will send a poster home on Tues. about "I love Book" Day on Oct. 31st. Your child can start thinking about what his/her favorite character is in a book and they will be dressing up like that character. Also, they will make a "book jacket" on the poster that I provide to wear around their neck for the parade on the 31st. It is always so much fun!! I need a parent volunteer to come in on that day to read their favorite book to 3 classes, and dress up like your favorite character in the book if you like! So please let me know if you are avail. for that morning from about 8:30-9:30am.
Next week, we will be giving the subtraction test on Monday, so review that chapter that came home today!! Also, we will continue to Retell stories (with a beginning, middle and end) and write about them. We will go over some fact Families and finish up our inventions and Ben Franklin.
