It is hard to believe that it is the 49th day of school and we are starting our 2nd 9 weeks! The students have learned so much already! We sure are enjoying learning about magnets.Thank you for sending them in! Ask your child about the things that attract and repel magnets. In math, we will continue to review addition to 18 and working on more place value. In language arts we will continue to create stories, READ, and focus on nouns and verbs.
Next week is Conference Week and the students will start dismissal at 12:20 all week. Don't forget that they will all be eating "lunch" early too...9:30, so they will be hungry when they leave each day! I look forward to talking with each of you to share how much growth your child has made! Since we are on a tight schedule, please be on time... thank you!
Next week is also Red Ribbon Week. Below is the schedule. Show your school spirit!
Red Ribbon Week:
Red Ribbon week coincides with Conference Week. The daily themes are as follows:

- Tuesday: 10/25: Be a JEANOUS and wear jeans.
- Wednesday, 10/26: Wear red clothes
- Thursday, 10/27: Smarties for smarties. Make smart decisions and wear your ribbon.

REMINDERS: Library day is on WEDNESDAY!! Several students forget their books every week and/or have books that are now Overdue!!
If you are purchasing a yearbook and/or Square art, please put the payment in correct envelope and fill it out. Also, the Square art Stickers are yours for FREE!! You keep them even if you don't want to order anything. So, if you don't want to order anything, DON'T send anything back. If you do want to order the lovely art...it makes wonderful grandparent gifts, send the order form in and check and I'll get it to the correct box.
Reminder that I Love a Book Day is scheduled for Monday, October 31st. The parade through the school will start at about 8am....parking will be a challenge. Get here early and line the halls! I hope all the Dalmatians are working on their"sandwich board" and character costume. When they are completed, you may send in the board and I'll hold it until the parade day. They should be able to tell these things about their book:
1. Title and author/illustrator
2. Main characters
3. Setting
4. Main idea
Have a great weekend!
