Happy Friday!! I hope you all are having a Wonderful day! We had a great week at the Creek! Your children are learning so much, so quickly. We finish our first Math chapter on addition to 10. Next week, we will begin subtraction 0 to 10. Our little meteorologist are enjoying learning all about the different types of weather and how to use weather instruments. If you happen to have a wind vane that works, please let us borrow it for a day or two...ours is not properly working at this time. Remember to send in the pictures of different types of weather to sort on Monday! Also, next week we will be making Tornadoes. Please send in a clean, empty plastic water bottle with screw on top for us to make our individual tornadoes to take home! If any of you cooks out there would like to SURPRISE the kids with a "Thunder Cake" next Friday, please email and let me know you can do this! I have the recipe to go along with the book! cindy.dingess@cobbk12.org
FYI... Homework will be coming home on Monday. The children will have 10 spelling words to work with all week. You chose 3 activities for your child to do on the back...or a separate piece of paper. Also, they will do 5 min. of IXL Math on the computer. Please let me know if you do Not have a computer for your child to do this activity. As usual, Please Read every night for at least 10-20 min. with your child. Find books at the public library that your child can read by themselves too!
Library day is on Wed. of next week Please return those books so they can get new ones!
Please Sign your child's behavior calendar every night. Soon, I do not expect to fill in a sheet every day for behavior because they will all know what is expected and make wise choices to do so. I would only send a note home on a "as needed" basis. Also, send in a Healthy snack everyday too. Next week, count your veggies and fruits...see the Sope Creek blog for info about earning prizes!
Please send back the plastic sleeve, the guided reading book and the note each time your child has one in his/her binder/backpack.
Last but not least, Please send in your Boosterthon $$ by Tues. the 13th!! I told the kids that they would earn a PJ day if they all get it turned in by Tues.
