We had another wonderful week at the creek! I just want to ThankSofia's mom again for doing our Scholastic book order and reading to the class for story parent. Also, a big Thank you for Maggie's mom for being our Helper parent this week! Thanks for Nate's mom for doing such a nice job with the Dalmatian Directory too!
Homework is looking Great! Our class has accomplished 5,000 math problems on IXL. On Monday morning, they will send me a list of kids and what skills they have worked on, so if there is one that your child did not do well, on, please review it again and again on the IXL program to see some improvement.
Our "special treasure" writing workshop went wonderful today!! I was so pleased with all their complete sentences, capital letters and punctuation. We will continue to work on the writing process next week. Also, we will be working on making connections with our reading and working on the word families of: -op, -ot, and -og. Our spelling test are going well. We will continue to have review words, so don't forget the ones from last week for next week's test. Also, if your child knows how to tap out the word family words, then they should be able to spell any word from that family. :) In math, I handed back the subtraction chapter. We will have a TEST on that on Monday, so if there are any pages your child struggled with, please go over at home. We will continue to work on subtraction and skip over to chapter 5 next. So if your child is still not sure about this skill, we can work on it some more then.
We are wrapping up our Unit on weather and water changes. Next week we will begin to study of Benjamin Franklin and his accomplishments! Don't forget, Library day in on Thurs., helper parent on Tues. is Rylan's mom and story parent is Nate's mom on Thurs. Thanks!!
School pictures came home earlier this week. Please send payment and/or returned photos in by Tues. Sept. 27th. If you pay on-line, please return the payment envelope with "paid online" written on it. If you are not purchasing any pictures, just write "no purchase" on the payment envelope and send the photos and envelope back. You may keep the "Safe kid" photo card for free. Thanks!
