Monday– Bowling Party and Desk Clean out

Tuesday– Wear your class t-shirt and bring your yearbook to get signed

Wednesday– Electronics' Day– Bring 1 electronic to enjoy for the day! (12:30 dismissal!)

Thursday– Last day of school!  NO BOOKBAGS and bring disposable lunch bags and containers.

Supply Orders!

This year there is an important change to the supply pre-order process.   Parents may order school supply packs directly from the supplier, Educational Products Incorporated (“EPI”), and all pre-ordered supplies will be delivered to students’ homes the week before school starts. The supply packs will contain items requested by teachers and will offer bulk pricing.

Rising fifth graders, however, will NOT have the option to purchase a pre-packaged supply pack from EPI.  Rising fifth graders will receive a copy of their school supply list with their final 2011-12 report card at the beginning of the summer.

Stop Hunger Now News

The Sope Creek Service Council is on a mission to raise $7,500 dollars to support the Stop Hunger Now Organization.

Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world.

Once we reach our goal each student at Sope Creek will have the opportunity to create a meal and package it for shipping.

As you may recall, we also partnered with this organization last year and the students and teachers had nothing but wonderful things to say about the experience.

Last year the students at Sope Creek packaged over 20,000 meal packages enough to feed 120,000 servings!!

Action :

We are asking students to look under their beds, in their cars, and perhaps do some extra chores to earn money to place in their classrooms collection container. On Monday the money will be collected and given to the Stop Hunger Now Organization. If you would like to donate you can also help by making a check out directly to Stop Hunger Now, and have your child drop it off in the collection basket in the front office.

The Service Council would also like to encourage you to come check out the bagging event that will happen the last week of school in the Sope Creek media center.

Students will be working hard (while having fun) to make a difference in students lives across the globe!

Summer Reading Update!

p>Are you ready for summer?  Have you chosen great titles to read while you are on vacation?  Need help with this?  Check out Sope Creek's BOOK FAIR LUAU!  The VIRTUAL FAIR begins May 1st.  Click here to shop and the books will be shipped anywhere you wish!  Even grandparents living in different states can participate in our book fair!!!!

You can purchase books in our school media center from May 7th - 14th.  Stop by, see Ms. Robinson for awesome recommendations, and get ready to READ FOR THE RECORD!

This summer, Sope Creek students will READ FOR THE WORLD RECORD!  By recording minutes read, we are going to work together and see if we can be one of the top 20 schools in the world - in number of minutes read over the summer!  You can read ANYTHING: books, magazines, newspapers, comics, stories online, ANYTHING!  It's easy to log your time...from now until August 31st, log into the Scholastic Website using the username/password given to you by Ms. Robinson.  Help us get our name published in the Scholastic Book of World Records!  Read, read, read!

Everyone make sure and check out our fabulous Class Basket tomorrow in the library during the Fun Run!  We combined our funds together with Ms. Mills’ class and have a wonderful American Girl Basket to bid for and support our Sope Creek Foundation!  A big THANK YOU to everyone that contributed and our awesome class moms for putting it together!

Get ready to ENERGIZE THE CREEK!  The Sope Creek Fun Run is THIS SATURDAY! It's more than a race:  it'a a chance to qualify for the Peachtree Road Race, a chance to bid on AMAZING baskets at the Silent Auction, many chances to win incredible prizes through RAFFLES, opportunities to meet great sponsors with valuable products, and a morning of fun to support our school.
