Language Arts
We are beginning our Third Reading Book and our first story is called, "Any Kind of Dog". In this story the children learn how much a boy really wants a dog for a special friend. At first his mom gives him several stuffed animals, but then she realizes that the boy should have that special friendship with a dog.
Math
We started Chapter 6 in Math on Friday. We used strategies in addition and subtraction that we learned earlier in our Math Book. We will continue this chapter next week, which is our last full week before Thanksgiving.

Remember that this week is our "Families Reading Every Day" Week, so please continue reading with your child every day. We will be back on our regular schedule with our "Reading Groups in Class" as we had so many wonderful events that interrupted our regular schedule this past week.
Thank you PTA
We really enjoyed the Reptile Man and wanted to say "Thank You" to our wonderful PTA. We have some pictures and we hope to send these home on Monday or Tuesday to share with our families.
Sope Creek Foundation
The Foundation still needs your help to raise enough money to fund their "Smartboards" project for all our classrooms at Sope Creek. There is a separate letter that I want to forward to you, although you probably have received it from our "Foundation Friend" parent in our classroom.
