Congratulations to Jennifer Bradley, second grade special education teacher, on her nomination and election as Sope Creek's 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year! Jennifer was recognized for her commitment to students, her out-of-the-box thinking, her leadership on her team, and for her adept problem solving skills. We are proud that she will serve as our 2013-14 TOTY!
Join us on Friday, May 10th from 4:30 - 7:00 pm for the annual Sope Creek Art Show in the Leadership Lodge. You will have the opportunity to purchase your child's framed art masterpieces for $25.00 payable by cash or chedk. We hope to see you at the show!
Sope Creek was honored to receive Keep Cobb Beautiful's Best New Garden Award! We are proud of our amazing garden spaces and the way they allow students to experience performance-based hands-on learning of the Common Core State Standards. If you have not seen our journey through the creation of the gardens, click on the link on the right-hand side of the website.
Our students truly used the LIFESKILLS of Personal Best, Perseverance, Effort, & Problem Solving this week as they completed the CRCT. We are extremely proud of our 3rd - 5th graders and can't wait to find out how they ROCKED THE TEST!
How do students get ready for testing each day? By participating in morning exercise! Can you imagine...almost 600 3rd - 5th graders participating in a morning workout at the same time? It's possible, thanks to our world class PE Department!

Friday, April 19th was the Service Council-Sponsored HAT DAY! All proceeds benefit Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Students showed up in force and completed in several categories: smallest hat, tallest hat, most pinkalicious, most creative, and craziest hat. It was a fun day, and Service Council is closing in on their goal to raise $8,000. If they raise that amount, Mrs. Whalen, Mrs. Grindstaff, Mrs. Jenkins, & Ms. Appleyard will spend the night on the roof!
Thank you, PTA Art Day Chairs, Barbara Malone & Molly Peterka! Sope Creek was truly transformed into a museum and students experienced visual arts, puppetry, dance, music, improv, hands-on activities, and a day totally immersed in art! An amazing day!
