Decorated Pumpkins are Back!
Pumpkin decorators have been busy decorating their class pumpkin. Pumpkins will be on display next week in the cafeteria! Stop by to see this year’s awesome creations! Thank you to all decorators!

Arm Band and Raffle Ticket Orders
All students will be bringing home order forms to pre-order armbands and raffle tickets.  Avoid the lines at Octoberfest and pre-order!  Send your order form in next week.  Your  armbands and raffle tickets will be sent home the same day.  Don’t forget to bring your raffle tickets to Octoberfest to win a chance at some awesome raffle prizes!

Help Support our New Garden
Our new gardens will need on-going support and maintenance to keep them beautiful and producing!  Stop by the Gardens table at Octoberfest and purchase a Growum’s Garden Kit!  All proceeds go to maintaining the gardens.  With a Growum’s Garden Kit, you can have your  own mini garden at home!

Teacher Tag-Alongs

The Foundation sponsors Teacher Tag-Alongs:  auction items that are based on spending time with your favorite teacher(s). 
Offerings include:  Principal or Coach for the Day; Hiking @ Sope Creek; an Afternoon @ Chuck E. Cheese's; Movies; Pancake Breakfasts; Ball in the Hall; Bowling; Board Games, and much more!  For a complete list of Tag-Alongs, click here.  All proceeds will benefit our playgrounds!  Tag-Along for a great time!.

Bake Sale & Cake Contest Reminder
Bake sale donations will be collected:
•    Friday morning (10/12) in car pool lane and at bus lanes
•    Friday during the day (10/12) in the Media Center Reference Room
•    Saturday (Octoberfest Day) until 3PM in the Cafeteria
•    Cake Contest entries due by Noon Octoberfest Day

They're Back!  Teacher Tag-Alongs! 

The Foundation will be auctioning Teacher Tag-Alongs (formally known as Teacher Outings) at Octoberfest!  Our teachers and administration have donated their time and come up with a fun activity to do with some special students from their class!  Look for the Teacher Tag-Along auction booth at Octoberfest.  Questions?  Contact Alexis - alexispapa2002@yahoo.com .

Principal for a Day

• Be Sope Creek's Principal for the Day!!  Conduct morning and afternoon announcements, have pizza in the administrative lounge, visit classrooms, take notes with an iPad, and make important decisions over the walkie-talkies!
• 4 Winners!
• Starting Bid: $40 The 4 top bidders will be a principal on their own individual day to be determined by the student and administration schedule.

PE Coach for a Day

• Blow the whistle and pick the games your class will play, you'll be the Coach on a day that works best for your classroom schedule!
• Starting Bid: $40 2 winners with the top 2 bids

Kindergarten:  Ball in the Hall

• Let's play Ball in the Hall, games, craft, ice cream,and scooters in the hall
• Wednesday, Nov. 7th from 2:45 - 3:45
• Children will stay with their teacher after dismissal and parents will pick up near the front office at 3:45
• Starting Bid: $25 with 16 students winning (2 highest bids per teacher)

Fifth Grade:  Movies & Popcorn

• Movies on the SMARTBoard after school in your classroom with popcorn!  No auction bidding, the whole class is welcome! Just a $20 flat donation to attend
• Date to be determined, an afternoon in January from 2:30-4:30PM
• Parents will pick students up at 4:30 outside the front office
• Starting Bid : $20 flat rate per student (no maximum, the whole class is invited)

Specialists:  Hiking at Sope Creek

• Let's go Hiking the Sope Creek Trails together!
• Tuesday, November 13th from 3:15-4:15
• Parents will need provide transportation to and from the Sope Creek trails, meet in the parking lot
• Starting Bid: $25 with 8 winners (2 highest bids per specialist)
• Teacher Participation: Media Center (Ms. Robinson), Art (Ms. Hopkins), STEM (Ms. Lance), Music (Ms. Beshara) 

Counselors:  Board Games & Ice Cream

• Play board games and have giant ice cream sundaes after school with your favorite counselor!  Each child will take home a board game!
• Tuesday Dec 4th 2:30-4:00
• Students stay on campus, parents pick up child at 4:00
• Starting Bid : $25  (3 winners, one for each counselor)
• Counselor Participation: Ms. Lombardi & Ms. Bowen, Ms. Murphy, Ms. Frederick

 

Target Teachers:  Pancake Breakfast

• Thursday December 13th at 7:30am in the Target room (3015)
• Parents will need to bring children to school early that day

The Octoberfest Bake Sale is a favorite part of this event!  All families are encouraged to donate a baked item(s), so be thinking of your favorite treat you can make!  To ensure a great selection of items, we are encouraging the following, but feel free to make your favorite:

K, 1st & 2nd – Cakes, Loaf Breads & Pies

3rd, 4th, & 5th – INDIVIDUALLY wrapped treats

(Cookies, brownies, bar cookies, muffins, trail mix, cheese straws, popcorn balls, etc.)  Be festive & creative in packaging your baked goods!
*Please mark “peanut free”, “dairy free” and “gluten free” items.

Baked items will be collected Friday morning 10/12 in the carpool lane and the bus lanes or please deliver to the cafeteria Saturday morning, up until 3:00PM Octoberfest Day.

3rd Annual Cake Contest!

Put your culinary talents to work this year by making a cake that will WOW our crowd!
Winners will receive FREE RAFFLE TICKETS!

Put your name and phone number on your cake and designate “Cake Contest” on your label.
Deliver your cake to the school by Noon Octoberfest day.
Winners will be notified by 2:00PM Octoberfest day!

Dunk Tank permission slips went home with 5th grade students this Friday, 9/28.  Please return back ASAP next week.  Dunk Tank schedule is as follows, but students may participate at any time if there is a conflict during their class time:

De Rijke/Radcliffe @ 3 pm to 3:30 pm

The weather is awesome and we are just 4 weeks away from the annual Sope Creek PTA Octoberfest! We are busy planning for another Fantastic - Fun - Family filled Saturday!

Pumpkin decorating is underway!  We appreciate all our Pumpkin Decorators who are helping to make this Pumpkin Auction one of the best ever! Thank you! The students always look forward to seeing their class pumpkin! Pumpkins will be on display in the cafeteria the week prior to Octoberfest. Silent bidding will take place the week prior and all day of Octoberfest until 5:30PM. Come bid on your favorite pumpkin!

A favorite part of this fun day is our great Bake Sale!  All families are encouraged to donate a baked item. Be thinking about your favorite treat you can make to contribute to this yummy part of the event!  More details to come!
