What a great school year! We wish our fifth graders and students who will not be returning to Sope Creek a fond farewell. What fun it will be in August to meet our new kindergaten students and to see the smiling faces of returning students. Have a safe and fun summer. Wear sunscreen, wear your helmets, relax, read, and continue to practice on iXL!

Service Council's major fundraiser this year was Relay for Life, an organization that supports the American Cancer Society. They set a goal of raising $8,000 and surpassed that goal! On Friday, May 17th, the Relay for Life event took place at Jim Miller Park. Mrs. Jenkins took part in the Survivors' Walk, students had fun walking the track, tasting sweet treats, and hanging out with friends. Thanks to all who supported Service Council & Relay this year!

Congratulations to Claire Murphy, Professional School Counselor! Ms. Murphy was granted the Radiance Award. The Radiance Award is a lifetime achievement award and is the highest honor a counselor can receive. Claire was nominated by several of her peers from multiple schools. She was recognized for her consistent support of students and her ability to think out of the box to help remove barriers to student learning.
Her family traveled from as far as California to celebrate the occasion and to surprise her. We are incredibly proud of Ms. Murphy and cannot imagine anyone who deserves this award more. When you see her at school, be sure to let her know how much you appreciate her!
