November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month Pajama Day! Sope Creek Elementary is partnering with The Center for Children & Young Adults (CCYA). CCYA houses youth who are in need of shelter because they have been abused, neglected, or abandoned by their own parents or caregivers. The shelter provides them with a safe place to sleep, eat, live, and grow until we can hopefully find them a permanent home. For more information about the CCYA, please visit the website at www.ccyakids.org. Each participating student will donate a $1.00 for the opportunity to wear their pajamas to school on Friday, November 21st. Bring a $1.00 in cash on November 21st and give it to your homeroom teacher. This is a school-wide event, so we hope everyone will participate!
We are asking that you consider brightening the holidays of some of our Sope Creek families by taking a HOLIDAY BEAR from the bulletin board in the lobby and purchasing a gift card. Just return the gift card to school via your child or drop it off in the front office. Your child’s teacher will make sure your gift reaches the front office. Please send gift cards in by DECEMBER 12. Thank you - Your School Counselors
A very special thank you to our Sope Creek PTA for the wonderful decorations and our cafeteria staff for delicious and nutritious food!
I wish you all could have seen the students' eyes when they realized these wonderful decorations were just for them!
We are thankful that Sope Creek is such a wonderful community of caring citizens.
