This summer, Sope Creek students will READ FOR THE WORLD RECORD! By recording minutes read, we are going to work together and see if we can be one of the top 20 schools in the world - in number of minutes read over the summer! You can read ANYTHING: books, magazines, newspapers, comics, stories online, ANYTHING! It's easy to log your time...from now until August 31st, log into the Scholastic Website using the username/password given to you by Ms. Robinson. Help us get our name published in the Scholastic Book of World Records by contributing to reading 1.5 million minutes! Read, read, read!

This year there is an important change to the supply pre-order process. Parents may order school supply packs directly from the supplier, Educational Products Incorporated (“EPI”), and all pre-ordered supplies will be delivered to students’ homes the week before school starts. The supply packs will contain items requested by teachers and will offer bulk pricing.
Rising fifth graders, however, will NOT have the option to purchase a pre-packaged supply pack from EPI. Rising fifth graders will receive a copy of their school supply list with their final 2011-12 report card at the beginning of the summer or you can download the list at the following link: Download Rising 5th Grade Supply List

Sope Creek students participated in our biggest social action project of the year: packaging meals for students across the globe who would not otherwise receive a nutritious meal. Working in conjuction with Stop Hunger Now, students raised over $4,738.50 and packaged 18,336 meals for students in a third world country. Thank you, students for showing STEWARDSHIP and CITIZENSHIP, and a special thank you to our Service Council for showing great LEADERSHIP!

FIELD DAY 2012
Field Day was PERFECT! Perfect weather, perfect time in relays, student vs. staff softball, and the Sope Creek Carnival. Thanks to all of our amazing volunteers! Kudos to our PE Department to their organization and commitment to ensuring Sope Creek's students receive a rigorous, relevant, and FUN PE curriculum!
