Math-This week we will learn about the world of fractions. We will divide whole items into 1/2 and 1/4. We will see how to equally divide groups into equal parts and label them. Please look around the house and notice how fractions are a part of your daily life.
Language Arts-This week we're reading Wonderful Worms. This is an informative piece about our underground friends. We will use websites to explore earthworms and gain insight into their movements and how they benefit our soil.
Science-We enjoyed predicting if the groundhog would see his shadow. According to Punxsutawney Phil, he saw his shadow which means 6 more weeks of winter. Beauregard Lee at the Yellow River Game Ranch didn't see his shadow, so there was a disagreement among groundhogs. Our class is going with Beauregard Lee, since he's right here in Georgia. This week in science we will measure our own shadows, if the weather cooperates and learn about sources of light.
