It's hard to believe that tomorrow is December and we have about 3 weeks until winter break! We have much to do before the break!
In math this week we're working on skip counting. We're using a hundred grid to count by 2's, 5's and 10's. We sang a song to practice odd and even numbers. Over the next 3 weeks we'll work on money and shapes.
In Social Studies we're learning all about Thomas Jefferson and his contributions to our country. I've told the children to find out what foods he brought back form France and I will see who can find out by tomorrow. Next week we will connect Thomas Jefferson to our explorers Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea. We will become explorers and travel like Lewis and Clark on The Voyage of Discovery.
Polar Express and Pajama Day-On Friday, December 9th, we will be having a special guest read Polar Express to our class, as we relax and wear our comfortable pajamas. Here are some guidelines for Pajama Day. Please be sure your child is dressed warmly. We will be going out to recess, so they will need shoes to change into if they choose to wear their slippers to school. They can also wear their pajamas over their clothes if their pajamas are not warm enough. Please call or email me if you have any questions.
Holiday Party-Our holiday party is scheduled on Thursday, December 22nd from 11:30-12:30pm. I've met with Melanie Landers and we will have many games and crafts planned for that day. Thank you in advance to those parents that will be helping that day. This is really a fun way to start the winder break!
