Thank you! Everyone sent in their pledges for Boosterthon by September 13th. I will let you know what our total was when they let me know and how much our class will get. The children enjoyed cupcakes today for getting all pledges in on time!

Math- We're continuing our chapter on subtraction. We're learning math patterns to make practicing our facts easier.  I taught them the game Subtraction War and they're having a great time playing and learning their math facts. Ask your children how to play and they can practice addition or subtraction this fun way!

Science- Thank you for sending in all the weather pictures. We had a great time separating the pictures into different types of weather. The posters look great! We'll continue weather through next week. On Friday, I will read Thunder Cake by Patricia Polacco. There's a wonderful recipe for thunder cake in the book and Maranda Ganas has agreed to make it for the class. Ask your children on Friday how they enjoyed the cake. If you want the recipe, I can send it home to you. Thanks in advance to Maranda for making the cake for us!

Writing-We're working on memories and will be writing about something that made us smile and something that made us sad. We're making sure we have capitals at the beginning of our sentences, periods at the end and spaces between words. We have some great writers in our class!
